General James "Pete" Longstreet and General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson
General James "Pete" Longstreet and General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson

For many years our plastic figure hobby has been lacking mounted poses and the American Civil War era is one of those. Although Imex and Italeri have recently made efforts to bring us a few new mounted poses I wanted to do something different. Different in the aspect of non-action poses. So putting my thoughts together I came up with these two Confederate Generals. Use your imagination in having General Longstreet and General Jackson discussing military tactics just prior to an upcoming battle.

As you know I am a "natural soft plastic figure" guy and strive to use plastic parts that are in the same matching color. On the Jackson conversion the parts were a different color so I had to spray him with Testor's gray primer to get a matching color. As I experiment with many different types of plastic and colors, it may become necessary to finish them with a coat of a solid color paint so they fit in with other conversions in my dioramas.

I am currently working on another famous mounted civil war personality and hope to have it ready in "limited" quantities for the upcoming Valley Forge Show on May 4th and 5th, 2007. Click this link for more information on the show.
