Custom Conversion
Feature of the Month
May 2007
Colonel Joshua Chamberlain of the 20th Maine at Fredericksburg, VA
Over the past year or so many collectors and eBay-ers have repeatedly asked me if I would do some
conversions using different types of figures and plastics. I must admit it has been a real challenge to
do so as these "other" plastics do not come close to the excellent results I get with Conte "canadian"
soft plastic. However, one must constantly try new things in order to keep moving forward in this
hobby. So featured this month are the new conversion figures I made using standard TSSD (Toy
Soldiers of San Diego) Civil War figures which are actually made in a PVC plastic.
Nick and Deanna Versteeg, owners of Toy Soldiers of San Diego are probably the nicest
people I have met in this hobby and an absolute pleasure to deal with. I encourage all to visit their
website for a wide variety of items for your toy soldier collection: www.sdsoldiers.com Don't forget to
tell them that Gary mentioned their name.
So enough rambling on by ME and enjoy the pictures!!!!!! Gary
