For decades, many of the toy soldier makers avoided doing casualty poses for most of the historical era's possibly for the fear of offending small children. However over the past few years that has changed with some makers doing wounded or shot poses but not many of them making "dead" poses.

As you know I work mostly with Conte "canadian" soft plastic in the making my conversion figures because of the excellent results I get with that type of plastic and my hot soldering iron technique. But with the four early Conte playsets that were made (Zulu Wars, WW2, Beau Geste and Warlord) which exclusively used the "canadian" plastic there is one era and army that has many possibilities for casualty and dead poses. That is the WW2 German army. Just recently I have worked on over 3 dozen different "dead" german poses including some unique poses of dead soldiers hanging out windows and over the side of a halftrack. But keep in mind that just because a dead guy hangs out a window it does not mean he will hang over the edge of a halftrack. Here are just a few of my pictures featuring the window and halftrack "hanging out" poses that I recently made.

And to wet your appetite a little more, here are just a few pictures of the more than three dozen dead german soldier conversions I recently made:
Since my son Tim has started a new career in law enforcement, the "old man" has had to scale back my conversion hobby and I am now doing mostly custom orders as well as selling some of my conversion pieces on eBay. However, I will continue to offer the toy soldier collector some unique poses "that you always wanted but were never made!"
