As many of you know I am a "natural plastic guy" which means I do not paint my figures. Heck, I normally don't paint anything! However, when I got this new Newray farmhouse I was not thrilled with the colors-butterscotch and brown. So I dusted off the old brushes and craft paints and experimented with a "crackle medium" which makes the top coat of paint "crack" and gives the farmhouse an old weatherbeaten look. I must admit I was very impressed with the final results. After making a few of these I put them on ebay and sold out right away. I then decided to do one in a medium gray and antique white (had a yellow tint) but the color schemes just did not look right. So I decided to stay with the color that is shown in these pictures. It's a satin beige color. Although I normally do not paint items I occasionally do a few for my personal collection or for props that I use in my ebay pictures. If anyone would like to know the paints and process I used on this farmhouse please feel free to email me at gmdutko@comcast.net. Until then, ENJOY THE PICS!!! |
