Title: TSSD Mounted Plains Indian Conversions The new TSSD (Toy Soldiers of San Diego) mounted plains indians finally arrived and all I can say is WOW!!!! I went right to work making over a dozen conversions of these great new mounted indian poses. As a "natural plastic guy" it is very important that the parts and figures I use to make conversion poses are a color match or close to it. Although the new mounted indians are a "shade off" in color I was still able to make these new poses using mostly Set #16 (Mounted Indians) along with a few parts from the 2 previous sets of indians on foot. For those of you that paint your figures, this color difference will not be a concern at all. Our hobby was really lacking in good mounted indian poses and thanks to Nick and DeAnna of TSSD we now have some great new figures. One of my favorites is the indian riding side saddle. So far, I was able to convert him with a tomahawk and carbine and he looks great. Even if you don't buy conversion figures I would highly suggest you pick up the stock mounted indians now being offered by TSSD (www.sdsoldiers.com). These will surely enhance your Custer's Last Stand diorama. For those of you that are interested I will be attending the Texas Show on May 29th and 30th at the Menger Hotel located right next to the real Alamo in San Antonio. If you have the opportunity to attend please stop by and say HELLO as I always enjoy meeting fellow collectors and friends. Enjoy the pics of these new conversion poses! |
